My Skincare Routine

Thought I would do a post about my favourite skincare products at the moment because I love finding new products that not only work but also that look nice! I probably am a bit of a sucker for branding but if it doesn’t make my skin feel fresh and clean then I won’t be using it.

Just a pre-warning this is NOT my daily skin routine. This is what I would do if I really had the time (like now) and felt up to it which I often don’t. It’s all about self-care and that’s something I often struggle with a lot. I also don’t want anyone thinking I’m any sort of skincare expert because I’m not at all! I’m sure loads of people will read this post and know that I’m doing it completely wrong, so please let me know!

Step 1: Cleanse

I’m currently using Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser which is a super conditioning face wash which I love because it can be applied to either wet or dry skin. It also doesn’t foam which I prefer because it makes it easier to wash off. I find this product leaves your skin feeling really dewy and fresh. Love it!

Step 2: Micellar water

I just use this simple Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water which is a complete staple. It’s also really good at taking makeup off and I use it as a second cleanser really. My skin is quite sensitive and I’ve not had any problems with this at all.

Step 3: Liquid exfoliator

This is my favourite step. This liquid exfoliator by Glossier works wonders. You pour a bit of it onto a cotton wool pad and swipe over your face then you can actually see the dirt it removes (or at least I can,,, eek). It’s so satisfying. The product is called Solution and I’m on my second bottle already! My only complaint is it is quite small and you do need to use a fair amount each time.

Step 4: Facemask!

I received this incredible facemask in my advent calendar last year. It’s the Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask and costs £20! I’m definitely one for expensive brands but even I think that £20 is a bit much for a 20 minute jelly facemask…. What’s more I found the actual mask to be HUGE! It literally was so baggy and I did look like a bit like Sloth from the Goonies with it on. (Google if you don’t get the reference).

Step 5: Toner

My toner is the Pixi Retinol Tonic which again was an advent gift. It smells incredible and has lasted me a long time because initially I had no idea what a toner was supposed to do. Now though, I use it after cleansing and it leaves my skin feeling amazing. Would highly recommend this product if your skincare routine is lacking.

Step 6: Moisturise

I have spent years trying to find a moisturiser I actually get on with and I think I finally found it! This one by Glow Recipe is called Watermelon Glow Pink Juice and you guessed it, smells of watermelon. Maybe because it came out around the time of Fine Line but I really fell in love with this product. It’s light and not a cream but more of a jelly. It’s the perfect final step to a routine of ultimate self-love!
